Tom Shively has dedicated 30 years of his life to education. As a retired Vocational Agriculture teacher, he is committed to serving the needs of rural Missouri. He understands the importance of farming, education, and small business. Tom Shively will work hard to create opportunities for future generations. It is his hope that as they grow and become educated, they too will want to come back and raise their families here also. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Shively has served as past Vice-president of the Missouri Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association, and has served on several community boards. Tom and his wife, Rose, are the parents of three children and 10 grandchildren. Tom presently farms with his son in a row crop and cow calf operation.
"This marks the official beginning of my campaign to represent the families, future, and values of the 8th district, "said Shively. "This is going to be a strong grassroots campaign to ensure our neighbors have access to health care, to bring better jobs to our area, to improve our children's education, and it is most important to have faith in a candidate who will represent the interest of every person in the 8th district."
Shively's campaign has the full support of former Governor Roger Wilson, who called Tom Shively an "outstanding candidate" and said, "Tom possesses the values that make Missouri great. I look forward to working with him to protect those values and to ensure the people of the 8th get strong, dynamic representation in the Missouri House." Tom would be glad to hear from any of the 8th district voters about issues that concern them. Please contact Tom with any of your concerns. |
